Remembrance of the great Warrior H.R.M Obanla of Ijesha Land Orisabiyi Ogedengbe I.


Ogedengbe is one of the most important men in the history of Yorubaland, Nigeria and Africa, hence the name ‘OGEDENGBE AGBOGUNGBORO’ meaning ‘OGEDENGBE THE WARRIOR’

Today Marks the 109th year  of the departure of a great Pan African Warrior Ogedengbe Orisabiyi Abogungboro (A historical Figure). He fought for the liberation of his people against political crisis, ethnic civil war and oppression of Yoruba people and empire.

Odidi omo afodidi gun;
O fiwaju digun,o fehin digun

Ayanmode baba ogbe odidi omo afodi digun.

Translation:
It is the war lord who owns Anaye
The fortress that checks all wars
With chest and back he face his faces,
The fortress that could check all wars,
The great scar that awards all sores,
The fortress that could check all wars.

Ogedengbe Agbogungboro,
Ọkunrin kukuru bi iku,
ẹni iku n ran pa ni jẹ, Ọkunrin gbandu bi igi ahere oko, Ani ka ta a laya, a tọwọ bọ ọ lẹnu,
Aṣoro-o gun bi oju abẹrẹ,
Akọ ẹmọ ti n beere ija lọwọ ologbo,
O ṣọkọ Ekiti ṣọkọ Akoko,
Ẹni Akoko ń bimọ̀ sin lẹs oke,
Ogedengbe Agbogungboro,
Ati-n-ti-pọn-ọn-pọn-loju-ogun,
Ọmọ Ijesha Oṣere, Onile obi,
Ọmọ Olobi Wọnwọtiriwọ,
Ọmọ Olobi Wọnwọtiriwọ,
Ọmọ Ijesha o ridii iṣana,
ile lẹru ọmọ Ọwa tii muna r'oko,
Ọmọ Arogunyọ, ọmọ Arogun-bẹra-bi-aṣọ tii ṣe Balogun awọn Ijeṣa ni igba aye rẹ.
